If you think your marriage is worthless what’s the point of fighting desperately hard to hold on to it?

There’s something senseless about the notion of someone fighting desperately hard to hold on to a worthless marriage. If your marriage is worth nothing why fight desperately hard to hold on to nothing? Perhaps the fact that you’re fighting desperately hard to hold on to your marriage means your marriage isn’t worthless to you. No sane person fights to hold on to something worthless, so if it is indeed worthless and you’re fighting to hold on to it you might need to get some help figuring out why you would do such a crazy thing and how you can find the strength to let go instead of fighting to hold on to something that’s not worth holding on to.  Otherwise, the first step to fixing your marriage just might be you ceasing to refer to your marriage as worthless as that’s usually an indication that you’ll fight desperately to hold on to it by doing nothing but sit back and endure whatever you’re enduring in your marriage and waiting for things to improve on their own through some divine intervention.
